Cheap Custom Wheels
Saturday, October 25th, 2008When did you last need help?
Tuesday, July 22nd, 2008My car broke down yesterday
In terms of needing help for such as a car breakdown, the last time was way back in the 1970s. The car I was using that day was my Triumph Vitesse - she broke down outside Brighton one winter’s morning and would not get going.
The AA-man arrived after about three hours. Lots of breakdowns he told me due to the severe cold weather.
Triumph Vitesse [classic car]
http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=sMQs_1_zVC…
The Triumph Vitesse had a straight six two litre engine with twin carbs and it could easily do 0 to 6 in about 4 seconds. It really was one hell of a fast get away car. It’s top speed was about 98mph. Originally built by Triumph back in the 1960s.
There was a version of the Triumph Vitesse with a 2.5litre engine as well - wow fast. . . .as you can see in the vide-clip above, it was a very small car. The twin headlamps were an interesting feature - I mean they were like search-lights. The car was really at it’s best darting about on England’s B-Roads far from the madding crowds.

Two days ago, AAA saved me and I fixed my car today, never been better.
I have a red 1991 Honda Night Hawk 250 it has 10,000 miles on it and it runs great. How much is it worth?
Saturday, July 19th, 2008Please give me a price around about what it’s worth. Also I live in Tennessee, that might have something to do with it’s value. Thanks for your time.
I would say around $900 if there are no major cosmetic flaws, the sprocket and chain do not need replacing, the fork seals look good and there are no mechanical problems.
If the bike has not been “kept up” despite the fact that it runs well then the price will be lower. Things to look for are if the fork seals need to be replaced (i.e. popped, cracked, very old, ect) as well as the tires meaning they treads are worn down and/or they are older than 3 years. The sprocket and chain should be in very good condition with only 10,000 miles but if it was not taken care of….. The brake lines should be intact with no cracking or creasing and the brake fluid as well as the pads should not be more than a 2-3 years old regardless of the milage. There should be little to no rust on the bike. Marring or scratches on the tips of the handle bars is ok but not anywhere else. The clutch should be tight and responsive as well as the shifter pedal. Scratched up pipes and dented scratched gas tanks are a big no-no and the gas tank especially can be expensive to repair. There should be no rust inside the gas tank at all, even on the cap. It should cold start, meaning it has not been warmed up or run in the past 8 hours or so, quickly and without issue. Obviously check the oil.
If none of the above are an issue but cosmetically it shows its age I would go with the original $900. If it needs new fork seals, new tires, has a dented gas tank and a damaged shift pedal I would go down as low as $200.
If it has no mechanical problems but has cosmetic ones, looks like its spent 15 years in someones garage, needs new seat, ect, I would think $6-900 depending on the extent of the damage.
If its in especially nice condition and looks very near like a new bike and has had the tires replaced in the last six months then I think you could get as much as $1200. To get this much it should look fantastic. This is rare in older low end bikes and I really doubt its the case.

Can I paint a bathtub with a 2HP aircompressor? What about furniture?
Tuesday, June 24th, 2008I read a web article on how to paint a bathtub, and mail ordered for a 2hp / 150 psi air compressor (and HPLV spray gun). Since then I read other articles stating that you need a 5 hp compressor to paint. Is 5 HP just for painting large stuff such as houses, decks, cars, etc? The shipping costs are a lot. Arghh. Thanks for any input!
The size of the motor only governs how quickly the cylinder fills and how long it takes to re-fill, when pressure the drops.
The cylinder size is the more important part of the compressor. The larger the cylinder the less often the gun pressure drops, with the gun and compressor both being regulated. I don’t know, but if I could get away with using a 2HP compressor, as opposed to a 5HP then I wouldn’t hesitate (cheaper electricity costs). You’ll find that it is more-so the technique, along with a steady light pressure and, not necessarily the power of the compressor motor, which governs the end result.
I had a 2HP/ 150psi compressor with a cylinder which measured approx 2′6″ in length by approx 12″ in diameter. I found that it did most things, including spraying motor cars. I simply regulated it so that the compressor wasn’t constantly kicking in.
There is a useful web-site which describes how best to do the job. I don’t know - you might have already accessed the site.
The first link describes how to paint a tub using the gun, the second how to keep the gun clean - just as important.
The site also has an internal search engine, for finding anything else (DIY) that you might be interested in, including furniture.

Hi, there is no hplv it is hvlp. you need 60 to 80 pounds of psi. to paint with.some guns are low psi .like 35 to 45 psi.Painting houses they use air lase .painters. cars they use HVLP guns there a lot of money 600 hundred dollars and up.,good luck.

Car Insurance
Saturday, May 17th, 2008Everyone knows that you can’t drive your car unless you have liability car insurance. Liability coverage protects you should you be at fault in an auto accident. It will pay for the victim’s injuries and property damage, as well as your legal bills. State to state requirements vary regarding the minimum levels of auto liability insurance. When purchasing liability coverage, you should try to cover or exceed the value of your assets such as your home or savings account. This is because if you are sued and you don’t have enough coverage to protect your assets, you could lose money, possessions and even your home.
You can find some valuable information online regarding how to save some money on your home insurance as well. Your deductible is the amount you have to pay towards a loss before your insurance company starts to pay the claim. By raising your deductible you can save more money on your premiums. Most insurance companies recommend a deductible of at least $500. If you can afford to raise your deductible to $1,000, you may save as much as 25 percent. You can also save some money by purchasing your home and auto policies from the same insurer. Some companies will take up to 15 percent off your premium if you buy two or more policies from them.
“aeroplane some times stay stable in one position in the sky”,is possible?
Monday, October 15th, 20071. Nope, this is not possible in the conventional airplanes.
However, there are some fighter planes and jets that have this capability to stay (hover) at one position in the sky.
2. obsolutely no
only jet planes and choppers can do that
3. it sure can, and you can even go back wards…. I have done it many times. If you fly a smaller aircraft, and are flying at an airspeed of 50 knots, and you are flying into a head wind at 50 knots… your effective ground speed it ZERO. A few years ago I was “hovering” above the
4. Yeah, to a certain extent.
Trimmed properly, low altitude, fixed wing aircraft will maintain the last course set by the pilot and maintain altitude and airspeed.
Hands off flying at higher altitudes is better left to the autopilots the more complex aircraft are equipped with. Trying to maintain control of the airplane manually, (hand flying,) above certain altitudes, depending on the aircraft, is a little like trying to balance a postage stamp on the point of a needle.
At lower altitudes, fixed wing aircraft will basically fly themselves as pilots grope around for the chart in the seat back pocket, or use the relief tube, (if you don’t know, you don’t want to,) or concentrate on trying to find an approach plate in a Jepp’s book.
5. It can deffintely be done. During initial flight training it’s called slow flight. This is doen more in smaller aircraft like Cessna’s and Piper’s. You place the aircraft into the wind, flaps fully down. Point the nose up and apply throttle. In perfect conditions you can actually go bacwards in a non-VTOL aircraft/Helicopter. I did this once while earning my pilot’s license with Embry-Riddle down in
6. Yes it can. Have done it many times when I see a bird coming on my way, I just stop and let him go .
7. If a plane flies into a 100 mph wind at airspeed of 100 mph it will appear to have stopped in mid-air relative to someone on the ground
8. well some times if you are moving in a car in the opposite direction of a low level flying aircraft, and between you and the aircraft, and in your filed of vision their is an object like a high building for instance, the air craft would seem like its not moving, eyes plying games…
9. Sure it’s possible. Even possible to go backwards. Fly a hundred knotts airspeed into a hundred fifty knott headwind you’ll go backwards over the ground at fifty knotts.
10. yes and no
no for commercial airliners…use some common sense lol they’re way too big for that
yes, take the Harrier for example. it is a VTOL aircraft..Vertical Take-Off and Landing aircraft. i’ve seen a documentary on the national geographic channel and the jet engines rotate vertically to propel the plane up.
Taking Luxury Cars to a New Level
Friday, September 28th, 2007When you buy a luxury car from the dealer you will be impressed with many things, but more often than not you will be surprised at the wheels. That’s because while car manufacturers do try to make an effort when it comes to wheels and luxury vehicles they just can’t create a look that is what every buyer will want. However, there is an option available for people who want outstanding wheels that really convey their style all the while being luxurious. The best way to get this look is to buy a set of Vellano wheels. That is because Vellano has been in business for over a decade and they know how to create the luxury look you are wanting in your wheels. There are many different options of Vellano forged wheels available. And of course, the price of the wheels will be based on the size and what they are made of. Some wheels are 19, 20, or 22 inches while 24 inch wheels are also available. All wheels utilize a true forged CNXC barrel with a solid tip. The colors available include chrome finish, brushed finish, grey finish, white finish, and red finish. The wheels are available for most any type of sports or luxury car, but if you are curious you should call first. That is because everyone wants a set of wheels that fit their vehicle and take it to a different level.

Is it safe to switch between drive and neutral while driving?
Monday, September 17th, 2007Yes fine, no damge can be caused so long as the engine is running. However, damage occurs when you shift from neutral to Drive while the car is going at speed. This causes the gearing AND engine some stress as it attempts to compensate for your instruction i.e. travelling 80k then slamming it into 1st 2nd 3rd or Drive.
How do stoplights detect a car?
Friday, September 14th, 2007In most municpalities, its called a magnetic sensing loop, there is one aproximately 1/4 mile from the signal, and 2 or 3 closer to the light in each lane. You may have noticed a black stop sign shaped marking (or in some cities a circle) in the roadway. This is where they have cut into the concrete or asphalt and laid in a magnetic loop (the black stuff is a sealer to keep the rain from rusting it). As your car passes over it, it sends a magnetic pulse (from the metal in your car or motorcycle) thru an underground cableing system to a computer terminal at the intersection (usually housed near the intersection in a large metal box on one corner), signaling that a car is coming from a certain direction. This is how a turn lane signal knows when to activate the turn signal for you. As for the length of a green or yellow or red light is dependant on timers in the computer terminal and some areas are need based. You ever wonder why you fly down the highway and the light turns yellow as soon as you hit the first crosswalk? This is how. As for your headlights, it is a common myth that flashing your headlights will trigger a signal to change for you. This is false. Their is a system used by police, firefighters, ambulances as such called an Opti-Com or Opti-Flash, which is a traffic signal preemption device that sends out a coded digital white strobe flash at a certain flash rate and candlepower, much faster and brighter than any headlight. This light is read by a small sensor usually on the traffic light pole and sent to the computer to trigger a green light for the emergency responders so they dont have to wait in traffic while the other 3 sides have red lights (this is why it seems like your light got skipped when a fire engine went through, its just the computer resetting itself into its normal pattern)
