Is it cheaper to dine out now?

With the inflation in America right now, is it cheaper to dine out opposed to buying and cooking food at the house? Please answer whatever you think + why you think so.

I think it’s always cheaper to cook at home, not always convenient though. Breakfast is probably the cheepest meal you can cook. Example: 2eggs(cost approx. 30 cents), 2 toasts(cost approx 24 cents), 2 pcs bacon(50cents), so far that’s a total of $1.04. Using 1 pound of coffee will serve 50 people. Coffee costs about 4.00 a pound(depending on type) .08 cents a cup! This breakfast cost a total of $1.12, beats D&D, beats Mc D’s and beats Friendly’s..how’s that!

depends well you from,
Over here in NYC its too expensive to eat out,
even with fast food 1 menu its just not healthy to eat that all the time. I guess its cheaper to eat at home but you have to find the right supermarkets because over here the price depends what part of the city u in in Bkyln i can get 5lb of breast for 5 dollars when in the city it will cost bout 8-10 dollars for the same quality of meat. So shop around and see whats the best value

For dinner alone we would spend for a family of four about $30-$40 IF we would eat out everyday for dinner. That price is of course somewhere in-between fast food and fancy dining. That would run us at average $245 per week (for dinner alone) even in today’s high food prices that’s still a lot of food I could buy for $245

It depends on if u go to a fast food place or a nice restraint.

Yes, I think so. A tray of chicken, rice and french fries costs me $8 and feeds three. If I went to the supermarker to buy chicken, rice, potatoes and spices, plus whatever else catches my eye and one of those plastic toys my son will bug me for and a magazine at the check out line- it’ll cost me $50.
