What is the dif between dental anesthetics? My doc says that there are more than one type??
There is the kind of anesthetic with epinephrine, most commonly used, and the kind without. The reason we use the kind WITH epi (epinephrine is a vasoconstrictor) is because the epi makes the anesthetic last longer. Great for longer procedures so the doc doesn’t have to keep giving you more. The kind without epi is short lived but anyone with a history of any heart condition should always ONLY be given the type WITHOUT epinephrine. It can effect the
